My Idea Of Fun

October 5, 2010November 19, 2014

Suchitra Karthik Kumar is a playback singer who has some of the best foot-tapping Tamil numbers of recent years to her credit. Suchitra is also a popular Radio Jockey and anchors a three-hour morning show on Hello FM 106.4 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Apart from singing and RJ-ing, she does dubbing as well. In a quick chat, she talks about what fun means to her and what she enjoys doing!

If you would like to take a break and have fun, what is it that you would want to do?

What I do for a living is what most people would like to do for fun! Singing and radio :)! I love travelling with my husband, so that’s what I would do if I get a break. We recently took a break and holidayed in London.

Radio Jockeying is a lot about having an infectious positive spirit. What does it take to remain so upbeat?

Your basic personality needs to be positive and energetic. Radio jockeying is so much a reflection of your true self, that you can’t really put on a happy voice if you are not feeling good inside.

Singing, RJ-ing, dubbing and writing – which of these roles gives you the real high?

Singing and radio. The ultimate high is performing on stage though!

Anything you would like to tell our readers?:)

Be a polite person and a citizen with good civic sense. Above all, be NICE!
